00:00:00:00 - 00:00:10:20
Unknown
Today we're going to walk through five daily habits that I believe every single person on this planet needs to prioritize in order to have a healthy life, healthy and successful.

00:00:10:20 - 00:00:22:20
Unknown
So let's cut the small talk today on Tina's arena. Let's talk about the five daily habits that have been most impactful for me and my life. In order to start feeling good and getting successful, and

00:00:22:20 - 00:00:25:06
Unknown
having my life go the way that I want it to.

00:00:25:06 - 00:00:30:10
Unknown
Number one is to get really clear on your goals and your schedule for the day.

00:00:30:12 - 00:00:38:15
Unknown
I have ADHD, I forget a lot of things, I'm unorganized and so I have to put everything on my calendar

00:00:38:15 - 00:00:41:14
Unknown
What are some things I have on my calendar that

00:00:41:14 - 00:00:47:04
Unknown
are just like simple reminders? It's just like pay bills is on there. Do cardio is on there.

00:00:47:04 - 00:00:50:01
Unknown
Meet with this person is on there.

00:00:50:01 - 00:00:54:23
Unknown
Buy ink at staples is on there by dog food will be on there when I need to do it.

00:00:54:23 - 00:01:14:08
Unknown
So I use my calendar as a task list, which makes sense because any time that you are doing something, it takes time. So schedule it on your calendar and put a time there. Because if your to do list is 20 items long, but you don't know how much time that's going to take you, well,

00:01:14:08 - 00:01:16:04
Unknown
one that's going to be overwhelming.

00:01:16:04 - 00:01:43:22
Unknown
And two, you're not scheduling and prioritizing properly. When I have things on my calendar, I use Google Calendar, so it's really easy to drag things around and adjust time and stuff. I can give everything and allotted amount of time, and if I'm running out of time in the day, then obviously there's just too much on my calendar. I need to move it to the next day, or I need to prioritize, and I need to

00:01:43:22 - 00:01:46:04
Unknown
do something in order to make it work.

00:01:46:04 - 00:02:04:19
Unknown
I can't just fit, you know, 30 to do items on my calendar, it's not going to work. And yet, how many items do you have on your to do list? Probably 40, 50, 60, 100, right? So it's important to be very aware of your schedule to prioritize and

00:02:04:19 - 00:02:05:23
Unknown
get on top of that.

00:02:05:23 - 00:02:11:08
Unknown
And I've just had to get into this pattern of overusing my calendar because I just forget everything.

00:02:11:08 - 00:02:21:17
Unknown
I have had to learn how to open up my calendar immediately when I get a new task and punch it in there, give it a time, and then that is when it's going to get done.

00:02:21:17 - 00:02:30:06
Unknown
And even if it doesn't get done as a part of my end of day review, which we'll get into later, I will start to move things around.

00:02:30:06 - 00:02:34:05
Unknown
if I have stuff on today's calendar that didn't get done, I will move it to tomorrow.

00:02:34:05 - 00:02:37:03
Unknown
and we just do this shifting along until everything gets done.

00:02:37:03 - 00:02:40:10
Unknown
So that's number one is to get really clear on your schedule.

00:02:40:10 - 00:02:50:07
Unknown
and just as a side note, if you're really clear on your goals, you can break your goals down into section and have little time blocks to work towards your goals. That's how it works. You have to schedule it out.

00:02:50:07 - 00:02:52:18
Unknown
If you don't schedule it, then it's not a priority.

00:02:52:19 - 00:03:04:03
Unknown
however you spend your days over time, that's how you end up prioritizing things. So if you're not getting things done in the way that you want them to, maybe it's time to start scheduling it in.

00:03:04:03 - 00:03:11:06
Unknown
For example, I schedule in all of my gym time because it's super important to me and I don't want any conflicts with gym time.

00:03:11:06 - 00:03:13:07
Unknown
So gym time is off limits.

00:03:13:07 - 00:03:16:05
Unknown
And then, for example, I'll say at night I

00:03:16:05 - 00:03:19:03
Unknown
end up watching Netflix for a couple hours a night.

00:03:19:03 - 00:03:33:09
Unknown
That's eight hours of my schedule that I am dedicating to Netflix. And although I might not say that Netflix is a priority for me, my actions are showing that Netflix is a priority for me because what else

00:03:33:09 - 00:03:36:16
Unknown
consumes eight hours of my time a week?

00:03:36:16 - 00:03:40:11
Unknown
Not that much except work, sleep, and gym, right?

00:03:40:12 - 00:03:50:16
Unknown
So if Netflix is taking up 8 to 10 hours of my week, well then by my actions, Netflix is technically maybe my fourth highest priority of the week.

00:03:50:18 - 00:03:56:15
Unknown
Even though I would never say that Netflix is a priority of mine, my actions are saying otherwise.

00:03:56:15 - 00:04:04:23
Unknown
That's why I think it's very important to be clear on your goals, clear on your schedule, and clear with how you're actually spending time.

00:04:04:23 - 00:04:15:21
Unknown
because where you're actually spending time might not be in accordance to your goals, and if it's not, then there needs to be a reevaluation in order for you to get to where you want to go.

00:04:15:23 - 00:04:17:10
Unknown
Okay, so

00:04:17:10 - 00:04:23:15
Unknown
that's why I think it's so important to be very self aware, know where you're spending time,

00:04:23:15 - 00:04:29:23
Unknown
Know where you want to spend your time and schedule it out so that it gets done. That is why I live by my calendar.

00:04:30:01 - 00:04:39:09
Unknown
Number two, most important habit that I believe everybody everybody needs to do is movement, exercise, walking,

00:04:39:09 - 00:04:43:15
Unknown
dancing, something to get your body moving and sweating.

00:04:43:15 - 00:04:50:15
Unknown
I don't think I have to get into why that's so important, because that's basically what my entire channel has been about.

00:04:50:16 - 00:04:53:13
Unknown
Basically lift weights, do cardio, sweat,

00:04:53:13 - 00:04:54:09
Unknown
have fun.

00:04:54:11 - 00:04:56:09
Unknown
Okay. Just move. That's number two.

00:04:56:12 - 00:05:06:11
Unknown
Number three is cooking your food and preparing your own food. Now you might purchase pre-made salads or pre-cooked chicken.

00:05:06:11 - 00:05:12:22
Unknown
I think that's okay. That's a step towards the end goal, which is preparing everything on your own. But

00:05:12:22 - 00:05:21:08
Unknown
it is so easy to over consume calories when you are eating out all of the time, and they can be hidden calories.

00:05:21:13 - 00:05:31:09
Unknown
For example, you can drink a Coca Cola and it will be 300 calories of sugar, but your body will not feel any fuller.

00:05:31:11 - 00:05:50:12
Unknown
And one thing that surprised me is that sometimes bread can be very high in fat. I always used to think of bread as a just purely carbohydrate kind of food, but actually I've started seeing recipes of people folding in butter into bread, you know, dousing it in oil,

00:05:50:14 - 00:05:55:03
Unknown
Just hidden fat and sugar that you would never know if you did not cook yourself.

00:05:55:05 - 00:06:24:01
Unknown
So that's why I think it's so important for everyone to be cooking their own food. Because number one, you will know and be able to start to recognize when foods are high in calorie because you've cooked it yourself and you've prepared it, and you're starting to learn how food works. And number two, because you're not over salting things, you're not putting in all of those hidden calories that restaurants

00:06:24:01 - 00:06:30:15
Unknown
or any sort of place would do in order to make the food taste better.

00:06:30:17 - 00:06:32:00
Unknown
Even home cooking.

00:06:32:00 - 00:06:37:11
Unknown
for example, with me and my Asian mother, I ask her all of the time like, hey mom,

00:06:37:11 - 00:06:44:07
Unknown
love your food, but please stop putting so much sugar in it. And it's like, oh, I didn't put sugar. I just put this bottle of barbecue sauce in it.

00:06:44:07 - 00:06:46:04
Unknown
That's sugar, mother.

00:06:46:04 - 00:06:47:18
Unknown
I'm just using that as an example.

00:06:47:18 - 00:06:57:18
Unknown
I don't hate on my mom or anything, but like, she just doesn't know because they didn't grow up as aware of this stuff as I did. And,

00:06:57:18 - 00:07:06:13
Unknown
but even when she does know, and I've asked for something, she'll be like, oh, don't worry about it. It's just a little bit of sugar to make it taste better.

00:07:06:13 - 00:07:08:16
Unknown
Or I'll ask her like, hey, mom, did you fry this?

00:07:08:16 - 00:07:16:12
Unknown
And she's like, no, absolutely not. I just use, like, the tiniest amount of oil. Meanwhile, I watch her make it the next time and she's full on deep frying something.

00:07:16:12 - 00:07:23:15
Unknown
So even within your family and like homemade meals, people will do things to make the food taste better.

00:07:23:15 - 00:07:28:20
Unknown
And of course, it tastes delicious and it's yummy. And I want to eat it all the time.

00:07:28:22 - 00:07:29:10
Unknown
But

00:07:29:10 - 00:07:40:21
Unknown
in order for you to live your best life, you need to be preparing your own food or. Or you make so much money that you are buying

00:07:40:21 - 00:07:48:23
Unknown
pre-made meals that are prepped appropriately for your goals. Or you have like a private chef that knows exactly what you want and makes it your way.

00:07:48:23 - 00:08:04:08
Unknown
if you make enough money that you can outsource that, or you're lucky to have a partner that loves to cook and makes things the way that you need them to be made for you to reach your goals, then cool. Lucky for you, maybe not luck. Maybe you work for it.

00:08:04:08 - 00:08:07:16
Unknown
I don't know, but good job everyone else cook.

00:08:07:16 - 00:08:13:17
Unknown
Fourth thing that everyone needs to do. Everyone is to prioritize connection.

00:08:13:17 - 00:08:23:02
Unknown
everything on this list is, I think, the most important thing that everyone needs to do. So it's hard for me to, you know, order them. But prioritizing connection, because

00:08:23:02 - 00:08:24:19
Unknown
we are social species,

00:08:24:19 - 00:08:26:04
Unknown
we exist

00:08:26:04 - 00:08:28:11
Unknown
in relation to one another

00:08:28:11 - 00:08:31:05
Unknown
and to live a lonely life

00:08:31:05 - 00:08:32:07
Unknown
is tragic.

00:08:32:07 - 00:08:36:04
Unknown
So connect with your friends, connect with your family.

00:08:36:05 - 00:08:47:09
Unknown
but especially connect to yourself. If you don't know yourself, if you don't understand yourself, then I think it's really hard to love and understand others. So

00:08:47:09 - 00:08:50:00
Unknown
every day spend some time connecting.

00:08:50:00 - 00:08:55:10
Unknown
You can connect with yourself through journaling. You can connect with yourself through dancing.

00:08:55:12 - 00:08:58:00
Unknown
You can connect with yourself through

00:08:58:00 - 00:08:59:05
Unknown
art.

00:08:59:07 - 00:09:05:02
Unknown
You know, there's so many opportunities for you to learn about yourself. And then also

00:09:05:02 - 00:09:12:02
Unknown
connecting with the people around you in your life. I'm not sure that I need to elaborate on that either, because again,

00:09:12:02 - 00:09:13:22
Unknown
connection is

00:09:13:22 - 00:09:15:01
Unknown
my lifeblood,

00:09:15:01 - 00:09:25:12
Unknown
and I think I've talked about it a lot, but I have felt lonely and depressed at several points in my life.

00:09:25:13 - 00:09:37:04
Unknown
And how do I get out of it? Is usually reaching out to someone or multiple someone's and starting that hard conversation and.

00:09:37:04 - 00:09:41:08
Unknown
Connecting so that I don't feel quite so alone and

00:09:41:08 - 00:09:43:04
Unknown
slowly moving on from there.

00:09:43:04 - 00:09:55:10
Unknown
Number five, the last most important habit that I think everyone should have, but they're all very important habits. The last one is kind of related to the first one. But let's reflect and reevaluate.

00:09:55:11 - 00:10:00:23
Unknown
Always look back at your life, your day, your week, your month. How did it go?

00:10:00:23 - 00:10:02:03
Unknown
How could it go better?

00:10:02:05 - 00:10:08:14
Unknown
If you didn't connect enough, how can I connect more next month if I didn't reach my goals? Well, what went wrong?

00:10:08:19 - 00:10:10:16
Unknown
And why didn't I reach my goals?

00:10:10:16 - 00:10:26:12
Unknown
for example, if I didn't reach my goals, well, what went wrong? Why didn't I reach my goals? Obviously, if I set that goal, it means something to me. It's important. So why didn't I do it and how can I make it happen next month?

00:10:26:12 - 00:10:30:06
Unknown
The reflection is essential.

00:10:30:06 - 00:10:32:20
Unknown
It's a part of learning who you are.

00:10:32:22 - 00:10:36:14
Unknown
It's a part of learning how you tick and.

00:10:36:14 - 00:10:38:08
Unknown
If you're never reflecting,

00:10:38:08 - 00:10:43:02
Unknown
then I don't think you are able to grow as a person

00:10:43:02 - 00:10:44:04
Unknown
and

00:10:44:04 - 00:10:51:09
Unknown
become everything that you want to be. Because if you're not analyzing yourself and your mistakes.

00:10:51:09 - 00:10:55:17
Unknown
Then you just don't learn as quickly. For example, if you

00:10:55:17 - 00:11:06:15
Unknown
are playing sports, you get a coach and you get someone to tell you what you're doing wrong, and then you're like, okay, well, now I know what to work on.

00:11:06:15 - 00:11:09:21
Unknown
So I'm going to work on that and I'll fix that, and then I'll be a little bit better

00:11:09:23 - 00:11:14:20
Unknown
And then your coach points out something else that you need to work on next. And then,

00:11:14:20 - 00:11:33:02
Unknown
okay, work on that for a little while and check that off. And sometimes we have blind spots that we need other people to point out for us. But sometimes a lot of the time I think we can discover it for ourselves if we just simply sit with our thoughts and feelings long enough.

00:11:33:03 - 00:11:35:02
Unknown
I hope that wasn't too abstract, but

00:11:35:02 - 00:11:36:10
Unknown
if you're not reflecting,

00:11:36:10 - 00:11:37:02
Unknown
then

00:11:37:02 - 00:11:39:06
Unknown
you could be achieving your goals faster.

00:11:39:06 - 00:11:42:03
Unknown
obviously we all want to be achieving our goals. Why wouldn't you?

00:11:42:03 - 00:11:44:06
Unknown
setting time to reflect and

00:11:44:06 - 00:11:48:06
Unknown
see where you can improve is also an essential habit to have.

00:11:48:08 - 00:12:01:15
Unknown
So I hope that this has been helpful. Let me know, message me, comment and let me know which part you thought was most impactful for you and which one that you're going to start doing immediately.

00:12:01:15 - 00:12:06:01
Unknown
Have a great week and I will see you next time on Tina's arena. Bye!
